My name is Amy Wu, I was born in Feb. 2003 in Houston, Texas. I am currently a college student studying design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  I have interned at an art outsourcing company in the video game UI department in 2024, taken private illustration commissions through social media, and is currently working part-time at an art studio as an assistant teacher educating children 5-9 years old. Although I am studying design, I lover drawing and hands-on, physical art forms more than anything, and encorporate the skills I acquired through working on those mediums into my design. My Art reflects my interests, I am confident in the skills I have honed through relentless practice since childhood. Anything I lack knowledge on, I am willing to learn and perfect. I believe that these days, it is easy for commercialized art to excel in polish but lack soul. At times what I put into my art may manifest as a sort of selfishness, as I do what I want, express what I want. That however does not mean I lack motivation to create art for others, commercial or not, as I believe that being in touch with our own emotions, wants and hopes is essential to becoming a great artist and produce meaningful work. We humans have more in common than many of us think these days, and I believe that even deeply personal work has the potential to resonate with tens of thousands of people. I hope that through viewing my work, in real life or online, I am able to create a connection between us, offer a glimpse of my person through my art.
